Rapper Meek Mill’s Mugshot Released

Meek Mill is back behind bars on Wednesday for probation violation.

The 30-year-old rapper is pictured in a new mugshot as he prepares to spend two-to-four years in prison in a sentence that some in the industry are calling ‘heavy-handed and unjust’.

The hip hop community has rallied round the former boyfriend of Nicki Minaj since the sentence was handed down on Monday, with Mill’s lawyer alleging inappropriate behavior by the judge.

TMZ reports that Pennsylvania’s Dept. of Corrections confirmed the rapper has been processed but it’s not been revealed which prison he’ll be serving time.

On Monday Judge Genece E. Brinkley ruled that two new arrests meant Mill had once again failed to live up to the conditions of his release.

‘I’m human. I’m not perfect,’ Mill said to Brinkley in court, according to a ‘I’m asking for mercy. You gave me the ladder to do what I have to do to prevail in my struggle. I made it this far, I can’t really go back and start over.’

The hip hop star’s attorney has claimed the adjudicator has a personal bias against his client, who was convicted of drug dealing and gun possession back in 2008, and they plan to appeal the sentence.
Mill’s lawyer Joe Tacopina told TMZ he believes Judge Brinkley went against prosecutors recommendation for no prison sentence.

Tacopina claimed last year the judge had a meeting with the rapper in chambers and asked for him to do a remake of On Bended Knee by Boyz II Men and to give her a mention in the song.
