D’banj Speaks 10 Days After Son’s Tragic Death

Famous Nigerian singer, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name, D’banj, has finally spoken 10 days after the tragic death of his son, Daniel.

The “Kokomaster,” who has kept mum and remained off social media since his only child, who celebrated his first birthday in May, drowned in a pool in his parent’s Ikoyi residence on June 24, took to his Instagram page on Wednesday morning to appreciate all those who extended a hand of support to his family.

He wrote: “We want to use this medium to thank everyone that has extended a hand of support to us during this period. 

“On behalf of myself and my family, we are awed by the demonstration of love and care from both near and afar.” 

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command had during the incident told the singer and his family that they would report the circumstances that led to Daniel’s to the state security outfit when the mourning period is over.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi, on behalf of officers and men of Lagos State Police Command, wishes to commiserate with the family of Mr and Mrs Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo a.k.a D’BANJ @iambangalee on the death of their one year old son, Daniel(Jnr) Oyebanjo whose sad event took place yesterday 24/06/2018, at the Ikoyi-Lagos residence of the family.
“The CP wants the family to know that at this period of their grief, the entire Command shares in their pain. It is expected that when the mourning period is over, the family will formally report the circumstances that led to the unfortunate death of little Daniel to the police. May his soul rest in peace. Amen,” the Police Public Relations Officer Lagos State Police Command, Chime Oti had said.
